The game is based on the anime and manga series One Piece, written and illustrated by Gosei Tomo. In the story, the main character is the pirate and captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, the legendary pirates of the Caribbean. The character is known as the "Gentleman of the World", "Lucky Dragon" and "The King of Pirates". His crew is composed of the best and most experienced pirates of the time.
On their journey, they are shipwrecked on a tropical island where they find themselves in a situation similar to the one in the story. They find themselves in the middle of a storm and are forced to set off on a new adventure to find their way home.
